SoundShed

DJ SoundShed is more than just a DJ name — it’s a movement born from a backyard shed in the mountains of Kimberley, BC. Rooted in a lifelong love of electronic music, SoundShed (Nick Hesson) built his reputation by turning intimate spaces into unforgettable dance floors. His sets blend driving basslines and sharp transitions across genres like dubstep, drum & bass, house, and garage, reflecting both technical precision and a deep connection to rave culture.

Nick’s journey with music started long before the shed became a beacon for the local scene. From experimenting with early DJ software and crate-digging through underground tracks to building custom lighting and livestream setups, every step has been a hands-on evolution. What began as streaming DJ sets for friends quickly grew into a full-blown community experience, powered by retro neon aesthetics, immersive visuals, and a deep love for shared musical moments.

Today, SoundShed hosts monthly events in Kimberley, drawing in both local and touring talent. Past guests include acts like Kytami & Phonik Ops, Abstrakt Sonance, Tube Screamer, and many more. These nights have become a cornerstone of the region’s underground electronic scene — a space where artistry, community, and energy collide.

SoundShed isn’t just about playing music; it’s about building experiences. Whether behind the decks, lighting up a forest dance floor, or connecting with a global audience on Twitch, Nick brings an authentic, raw energy to every performance. His goal is simple: create spaces where people can lose themselves in the beat, together.
