Louie Decibel

My musical journey started when I was a kid. I sang in a children’s choir, performed solos, and toured around with the Northern Lights Chamber Choir singing Mozart’s Requiem. Through high school I played the saxophone and sang in the school choir.

In 2007 I bought my first Numark turntables and invested in vinyl. I was largely a bedroom DJ but within a few years I played my first gigs at Hush nightclub, Soundwave Music Festival, and online at aftershockradio.com. In 2009 I moved to Vancouver and studied film full time. I achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Motion Picture Arts and my film career took over my life. In 2021 everything changed when a close friend from my childhood passed away very tragically. This event gave me the opportunity to take a look at my life and prioritize doing the things that bring me joy. Life is short and I was reminded of that! I signed up for Wes Please’s DJ course and bought my first controller, a DDJ FLX-6. A few years later I am now a Twitch affiliate and I stream every Saturday with the Subtaneous Frequencies raid train.

I have played some live gigs and I have many mixes available on my Soundcloud.I also have had the honour of playing such other raid trains as: Thursday is a Vibe. Tune In Tuesday, Captin’s Lyst, Born 2 Raid, and Funklectic. I also work at Shambhala Music Festival as a part of the Village Stage crew. I have also bought Wes Please’s Tech-1200 turntables and have been mixing vinyl on my channel.
