DrumDMC is an Open Format DJ, Drum Cover Performer and Standard Issue Middle Aged White Guy who hates referring to himself in the third person in order to sound more professional, so I’ll stop here, thanks.
If you’ve never seen a DrumDMC stream, if it’s over an hour then I’ll usually split it in two with a DJ set in pt1 and viewer drum cover requests in pt2. I only took up drums in 2020, so don’t expect John Bonham… but always expect a good time and a lot of laughs!
How open is my format? Well, it’s a safe bet if you could add the tag Funky to it, I’m probably into it!
I grew up a Bon Jovi obsessed rocker before discovering Big Beat and breaks in the mid 90s. I started DJing in ’98 using my first student loan cheque to buy decks, which is when I discovered UK Garage. From there I found funky, soulful and disco house, and eventually D&B and I even developed a penchant for dubstep and all things wubby!
Nowadays, as a Funk Fammer I fuse it all, tailored for the raid train when appropriate. I grew up on rock shows and I still can’t help but treat my sets the same way! That’s why I can’t help but jump around like an idiot between mixes – If I don’t look like I’m having a good time, why should you, amiright?!
So that’s me synopsized (how is that a real word?!) if you see me online come say hi and maybe even stick a song in my queue…
